Will Share Dice for Texas Land
Willing to gamble for a Texas land stake, William H. Meyer a Good Brewing salesman once of New Ulm travels eighteen hundred miles to dice for a forty acre tract near a growing Texas town. Meyer and two partners bought the land at $1 per acre two years ago. a land agent now offers $150 per acre for all or part. If the dice gamble wins, a third of the forty acres passes to Meyer, else the partners sell and split the proceeds.

Congress Honors Heroic Woman at Fort Ridgely in 1862

German American Union Forms Blue Earth County Branch

Carl Albert Hagberg Civil Lawyer of New Ulm Dies
Carl Albert Hagberg a longtime New Ulm lawyer died Saturday after a cancer illness. Born January 13 1856 in Rockford Illinois he moved to Minnesota and formed the firm Lind and Hagberg then practiced alone. He married Julia Wagner in 1884, had a daughter Maude and a son who died in infancy. His second wife Caroline Wagner survived him. Funeral services were held at the Turner Hall with Workmen Lodge honors. he was noted as kind sociable and fond of nature.
