Milwaukee Road extension eyed to Mankato via Granite Falls
A Minneapolis Journal special reports Milwaukee Road may build from Granite Falls to Mankato linking with the Alphabet line, creating a Chicago outlet shorter than via Hastings & Dakota. If the extension proceeds through Redwood Falls, New Ulm’s flour trade could gain a key station. St Peter capitalists also pursue peat brick production in Nicollet county with tests by Bernard Litz aiming to build a plant near Oshawa and St Peter.
