Thirteenth Annual Concert of the Second Regiment Band
The Second Regiment Band schedules its thirteenth annual concert at Turner Halls next Sunday evening in February with Capt Joseph Hofmeister selecting a varied program. The first part includes marches overtures and solos. the second part features Falcon's Last Charge La Dame Blanche and other works culminating with the Star Spangled Banner.

Fair Store Changes Hands In New Ulm
Last week brought a notable change as John F. Neumann sold to Emil Metzinger. A. Fritch sold stock to Theo B. Melzer who took possession. The Fair Store, New Ulm’s first 5 and 10 cent shop, opened by Fritch & Churchill about two years ago, is now run by Melzer. Kasson Seiter left for Chicago and Purdue University in Lafayette, Ind.

Municipal steam heating plan report to council
Consulting engineer Earle Jackson submitted a favorable feasibility report on a municipal steam heating system using exhaust steam from the electric light plant. The prototype serves three blocks on Minnesota Street with future expansion, costing $13 000 to $16 000 depending on casing. Owner connections are extra. Estimated annual receipts from 16 000 square feet of radiation at 0.90 per foot yield about 44 8,000 with expenses near 3 400. The project would repay in about 5.6 years, roughly double previous electric plant returns, based on 30 cents per square foot per season.
