Stranger commits death by own action at Hanska hotel
F. J. Murray, a stranger to these parts, drank strychnine and died at Irving's hotel in Hanska on Saturday morning. He arrived the previous evening after walking from the east, stopped for supper at Nels Erickson's place, claimed to be from Montana and en route to Illinois, and appeared well dressed and not dissipated.

Man Dies By Own Action At Irvings
In Irvings a man retired early and after coming downstairs fell ill with muscular twitching and asked for a doctor. He died soon after and a bottle of strychnine was found in his room. Coroner Fritsche deemed no inquest necessary. receipts show prior railway service. The motive remains unknown.

Old settler John Bellm dies at eightyone
John Bellm born April 13 1827 in Langbruecken Baden died late Friday night at eighty one. Immigrated after the 1848 revolution, lived in Highland Illinois before moving to New Ulm in 1856 where he engaged in milling and helped defend the town during the Indian outbreak as captain of a protective company. Survived by his second wife Freiska Jones and six children from first wife and two from second. Funeral from Turner Hall with Sons of Herman in attendance and Second Regiment band escort. Out of town relatives listed from Rochester Belle Plaine Waseca Rockville Fulda Currie Fort Snelling and Heron Lake.
