City Wins One and Loses One in Nagel Neumann Cases
In district court, New Ulm City Attorney Pfaender won the Nagel case where Victoria Nagel sued over a retaining wall built during street improvements. The Neumann case, a $5,000 personal injury suit by Eliza Neumann for stepping into a coal hole, resulted in a $1,000 verdict for the defendant. judgment to be paid by the city with later recourse against the fronting property owner.
