J H Forster shipped a 1861 New Ulm oak table to Henry Hammer of Harvey North Dakota. Made in New Ulm by H Hammer Sr for Charles Roos, the table is now fifty four years old and tied to early New Ulm days. Hammer, an Ohio native who moved to New Ulm in 1869, recalls Front Street South shop and an Indian raid that burned the area. The table remained with the Roca family on Minnesota Street before Mrs Charla Roos kept it as a keepsake.
