W. A. Boies aged fifty five was sentenced by Judge Cray at Mankato to six months in Stillwater for forgery in the third degree. He canvassed near Springfield for a Mackate nursery man and sent forged orders, earning a commission of £820. He claimed the fraud was to tide over a dull week.

La Salle Bank Robber Released on Bail in Minnesota

Death of Brown County resident Carl Schulz
Carl Schulz a longtime Brown County resident died at his home Sunday evening after months of suffering from dropsy and asthma. Born in Brandenburg Germany May 5 1848 he came to America in 1869 and married Sophia Lent the same year. He lived on a Wheaton Illinois area farm before settling in Brown County with two marriages and a large family. His funeral is planned for Tarver Hall this afternoon. Nic Andring visited Bird Island Saturday to see a sick relative.
