Real Life Indian Addresses Alden Students

Alden Cherokee Leonard Youngbear, a native of the Oklahoma reservation, spoke to Alden students in an assembly. He described tribal life, contrasted Sioux and Cherokee languages, demonstrated sign language, and showcased moccasins, beadwork, love songs, three dances in costume, and fancy roping as part of his educational tour.

Former Alden coach presents films to pupils

Reeves, formerly Alden coach, now with Phillips 66 Des Moines office, showed a basketball film and a soil conservation film to Alden high school and junior high pupils Thursday afternoon. The message urged safe driving and walking with the slogan Look Where You Drive and Walk.

Local Social And Travel Notes From Iowa Falls

Des Moines tax school attendance and various visits mark a busy period for Iowa Falls residents. Mrs Vance Kinsey and others attended the Public Bookkeeping Association event while Dr and Mrs Heflin hosted guests. Several locals toured, visited relatives in Dow City Waterloo Des Moines Conway Springs Kansas Ellsworth College students worked part time at a bank and many families planned holiday moves and dinners.
