The first Sunday in March marks the start of a series of meetings at the Christian church led by Rev. Brewer. An examination for graduation took place at the schoolhouse on Saturday with nearly 50 applicants. Rosa and Cordie Golliday have returned home after visiting friends in the country for two weeks. The band boys plan an old fiddlers contest and jubilee at the Red Men’s hall Saturday night March 4.
Timothy Lane's sale Saturday was largely attended. Lee West and Wm. Neff opened their sugar camp. Myrtle Henry stays with her aunt Lou Gott of New Ross. Charles and Myrtle Henry with Lillie McLean attended Fountain meeting Sunday. Rancon Walkup and Crawfordsville family visited Timothy Lane's Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. Wm. Hedge went to Covington Wednesday to visit her sister, not expected to live. Little Carrie Roberts of James Town spent the latter part of the week with her sister Bertha at Marion Porter's.
James Cason of Thorntown declared insane. Michael Keefe Lebanon prominent lawyer died. Mary Catherine Johnson Whitestown declared insane. County commissioners postponed electric line franchises. Court notes show Camplin brothers awarded $310.45 debt and fees. Real estate transfers include Jackson township parcels and several Ross and McClain deeds. Auditor notes tax sale details. Catherine Thompson to Sophronia Gordon. Charles Kiser, 45, of Lebanon died by self-inflicted shotgun wound leaving a 15 year old daughter.

Charley Berry editor of the Veedersbury News faced a near injury while protesting repairs to the Covington courthouse damaged five weeks earlier. The dispute centered on whether Covington should retain the seat of justice or move it closer to the county center. the issue was settled with Covington remaining the location.
The article describes enraged Covington residents threatening Berry as roughs grab him and pursue him toward the Wabash river with the intent of drowning him unless he wrecks the protest. Citizens condemn the actions as disgraceful and unlawful, noting Berry fled rather than endure further costs to relocate the county seat.
