Death of C H Richter 65 former state legislator

Charles Henry Richter 65 longtime Adams county representative to the General Assembly and Berwick township justice of the peace died Friday afternoon at his home from a heart attack. He taught at Newmans South Mountains Sand Hill Hanover and Berwick schools and served in the state Legislature. Interment was at Mt Olivet Hanover with Masonic rites.

Obituary: Hanover man served 30 years in peace and ministry

A Hanover township resident known for over 30 years of peace efforts died recently. Funeral services are planned Monday. He led the Han Over Lodge of Elks as past exalted ruler and belonged to Hebron lodge of the Masons of New Oxford. He attended St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Hanover and taught the Men's Bible class there. Survived by two children Charles Henry Richter Jr and Grace Gitt Richter, two sisters, and a brother: John Edward Richter Hanover R 3, Mrs H A Markle Hampton, and Mrs John E McDonnell Gettysburg. Funeral services Monday morning.

Wheat Insurance Starts With August 15 Deadline

Farmers in southeastern and central Pennsylvania must apply by August 15 to qualify for 1939 wheat crop insurance. Russel F. Dies of Injuries in Hanover Auto Crash

Philip G. Murphy a 55 year old Lansdowne candy salesman died Sunday afternoon at Hanover hospital from traumatic meningitis due to a skull fracture. Murphy was struck June 7 as he stepped from the sidewalk by a sedan driven by S. C. Veney, per coroner L U Zech York. He was employed by the F M Paist company of Philadelphia.

State police from Gettysburg substation arrested Chester Merchant of Springfield Ohio for speeding on the freshly paved Lincoln highway on Friday after overtaking his vehicle.

Driving at 70 mph fined with costs

Information filed before Justice of the Peace shows a driver charged for traveling at 70 miles per hour. The offender paid a fine of 15 dollars and 1 hour costs.
