Notable Waynesboro Newsman A. H. Stoler Ends Life
At Waynesboro A H Stoler longtime Register and Recorder and prominent Franklin county figure died by hanging in his warehouse. A former schoolteacher surveyor and JP he served as Register and Recorder starting 1886 for three years. Despondent over money loss he left supper with his family then killed himself he was 68 with a large family.

Farmer's Bloody Deed Shocks Delaware Family
Jacob Killen a Viola Kent county farmer attacked his wife and their 10 month old baby in bed with an axe. He slashed the wife's jaw and forehead, struck the infant causing brain concussion, and fled after a daughter witnessed part of the assault. He surrendered in Felton and is believed insane.
