A couple from York plan a new life after June 30 and travel to New York state. They will reside at 328 Baltimore Street Gettysburg after marriage and announce a forthcoming home address.
Miss Blanche Geella Maar daughter of Mr and Mrs George A Haar near New Oxford and Karland C Staub son of Mr and Mrs Charlies Staub near New Oxford were married at a husptial mass Saturday morning at St Marys Catholic church Abbottstown The ceremony was led by Rev William J Burke The bride wore white lace gown with lace veil and orange blossoms bouquet white roses The bridesmaid wore blue organdie with white accessories and carried talisman roses and snapdragons
Miss Alice Nellie Bowers and Professor John W. Black were married Saturday at Wenders Lutheran Church in Gettysburg R D. The Rev H W Sternat officiated with a single ring ceremony. Keneth Guise led the wedding march and Dale Roth sang with Alma Roth at piano. The couple stands beneath ferns and white roses with Mrs Kenneth Guise as matron of honor in pink attire.

George W. Spencer and Miss Dorothy M. Mack of Ashta bula Ohio wed in a 6 o clock Saturday ceremony at Gettysburg Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Frederick B. Crane. A single ring ceremony was performed with organist Elizabeth VanCleve playing O Promise Me and I Love You Truly. The church featured cut flowers and the bride wore a blue ensemble with white accessories and carried roses and gardenias.

C. Russel Gilbert of Gettysburg high school faculty and assistant athletic director has been appointed Japanese beetle inspector in western Pennsylvania. He will inspect nurseries and greenhouses near Dubois and begin duties on July 6, with the work continuing until late August.
Robert Groman, 34, of Harrisburg, suffered lacerations to his right ankle and forehead when he stepped from a safety zone into the path of a car driven by Harold Reuning, of Gettysburg, at Third and Market streets. He was treated at Harrisburg Hospital. Reuning was returning from the Pennsylvania railroad station where his mother, Mrs. C. C. Reuning, had boarded a train to Batavia, New York, for her brother Frank E. Mansfield's funeral.

A small chicken house on Millard Basehoar's farm in Union township near Littlestown was destroyed by fire around 7 o'clock Tuesday morning. The Littlestown fire department responded to extinguish the blaze.

Charles Minter and wife from New York weekended with Jacob Ray and Luther Minter and families. Mrs. Katie Fidler and Miss Sarah Bupp of Gardens and Curtis Fidler and wife of Washington DC visited Darius Shull and wife.
