Adams county registrars gather at the courthouse to take oath of office and receive registration supplies for 42 election districts. Winfield G. Horner explains registration rules while J. P. Shannon covers the filing cards. Registrars plan to open polling places and proceed with registration on Thursday and the following two dates.

Relief rolls trimmed in Pennsylvania week end June 12
During the week ending June 12 Pennsylvania's direct relief rolls dropped by 5891 persons, leaving 419861 on the rolls. In Adams county nine relief applications were received and 457 remained on the rolls with expenditures of 783.60 dollars. Three county cases opened this week stemmed from loss of private employment, loss of works program employment, and other reasons. nine were closed due to private employment and two due to works program employment.

Weaver posts $300 bail on desertion charge
Richard R. Weaver of Ridge avenue McSherrystown appeared voluntarily before Justice John C Shearer to answer a warrant for desertion and non support of his wife and two minor children. Constable Glenn Gulse had sought him Saturday and left word he was to appear. Weaver posted 300 bond for August court. His wife Catherine filed the charge.

Farmer's Car Drained of Gas in Gettysburg Market Run
George Wirt and wife found their car out of gasoline when starting for the Farmers' market at Gettysburg R4 Saturday at 4 45 am. Four gallons were stolen from the tank since Thursday. A neighbor lent fuel and the Wirts reached the market on time, though missing early customers.
