York man ends life and wife after financial stress
Walker N. Brenner aged 38 fatally shot his wife Harriet Gipe Brenner 29 in York morning. He then killed himself by a second gunshot, dying at York hospital at 4 AM. The wife remains critical with pregnancy pending in September.

State police describe 57 year old Noah Grove missing since May 26 after leaving his sister in law near Abbottstown to visit his brother in East Berlin. A vain search along railroad tracks and rail right of way has yielded no trace. Grove, bedridden after a house fire three weeks ago, is well known in Abbottstown area and may not be acting like himself.

Ogden Bond Approved for Gettysburg Tax Collector
William Ogden, Gettysburg tax collector, had his bond of 79700 approved by Judge Donald P. McPherson at a short court session Saturday. A surety company furnished the bond. Ogden said late securing a bondsman will not grant taxpayers an extension on paying taxes due July 1. Notices of local and county taxes for Gettysburg property owners were mailed Monday.
