Man Drinks Poison In Court Then Starts 30 Day Jail Sentence

Milton Slaybaugh a 48 year old Centre Mills egg dealer defied a contempt ruling by Judge W C Sheely by drinking a vial he claimed contained poison moments after being sentenced to 30 days in Adams County jail. He was rushed to Warner hospital where a stomach pump was used. The court ordered him to start serving the jail term after the incident. Slaybaugh walked from hospital to jail and later spoke of escape if the sheriff would shoot. His affairs with support payments and egg business figures were skimmed during the stand. His father and wife testified and he lacked an attorney at trial.
