Edgar Howe of York Springs was elected president of Adams county's fifth Sunday school district at the fifty-sixth annual convention held Saturday and Sunday at St. Mark's Lutheran church in Heidersburg. Officers were reelected and program sessions featured addresses by Rev. H. Leroy Brininger and Rev. Dr. Herbert C. Alleman with music by local choirs and instrumentalists.

Protection of Viaduct Urged in Iron Springs Case
Adams County Historical Society members reported removal of crown stones from the Thaddeus Stephens viaduct at Iron Springs. Eugene Williams vice president of Western Maryland Railway offered cooperation to preserve the site and asked if the society would act with company assent. Local protests followed the stoppage of work by Highway Engineering and Construction men who had removed about twenty stones. railroad officials said there was no permission.
