Only Civil War Vet In Adams County is 95
Adams County's only surviving Civil War veteran, George W. Krug of Kingsdale, marks his ninety fifth birthday quietly at his daughter’s home near the Maryland line. Though in fair health he opted not to attend Gettysburg events, having enlisted in 1865 with Company G of the 74th Pennsylvania Infantry, he endured long marches and short rations as a young soldier.
