REA Extends Adams Electric Service Lines
Adams County utility the Adams Electric Cooperative based in Gettysburg announces a Rural Electrification Administration loan of 500000 to expand service to dozens of homes and farms in Adams York Franklin and Cumberland counties. A new Shippensburg office and storage facility cost about 10000 and work began Thursday with wiring along existing trunk lines and expansions in Straban Tyrone Union York townships and York Springs with small project amounts listed.

R C Witherow Dies Suddenly in Gettysburg Area
Robert C. Witherow 79 of Gettysburg R1 died Thursday afternoon at 4 30 in a field at his home where he worked with horses. Coroner Dr C G Crist attributed death to cerebral hemorrhage. He was a longtime farmer, former road supervisor and school director. survived by widow Elsie Guinn and 10 children. Funeral Sunday at 2 pm from the home, interment Evergreen cemetery. Lt Commander M B Frazee, Gattysburg, graduates Georgetown law. On pay day buy bonds.
