Children Enjoy Christmas Party at Earl Theater
About 600 children from New Oxford and nearby areas attended the annual Christmas party Friday evening in the Earl Theater. The New Oxford Lions Club sponsored the event with movies and a visit from Santa Claus who gave each child a candy filled pesos and a small gift. The Lions Club also sold a carload of Florida oranges and extends sincere thanks to all who helped make the event a success.

John Louis Lawrence aged 30 of New Oxford Rhode Island died Wednesday morning at the Lebanon Veterans Hospital fifteen minutes after admission by ambulance.
