Borough Council holds December meeting in New Oxford
Borough Council met Monday evening in the New Oxford borough hall with President John E. C. Miller presiding. Attending were Councilmen Alwine, Freed, Wolf and Emlet. Borough Manager Bevenour. Burgess O'Brien. and A W Enders of Lyle Signs Inc. The council discussed street signs, ordered the new Borough Code, and reviewed meter installations and water billing progress. The treasurer reported a cash balance of 629.77 on Oct 31 and total receipts of 2,500.27 with disbursements of 1,493.93. cash on hand Nov 30 stood at 1,006.34. Bills of 1,567.28 were approved.

The Lower Adams jointure plans a Christmas program December 22 at 8 p m in the New Oxford high school auditorium. The program opens with candlelight by girls choruses singing Adeste Fideles. The fifth and sixth grade chorus from several area schools will perform multiple carols and numbers. Edwin Starner accompanies. the New Oxford high school band features several pieces. The junior cohorts sing Twelve Days of Christmas and other songs as the Senor churns perform. The program includes soloists and chorus pieces with Handel and other composers, ending with The Christmas Story narrated by Paul Commerer.
