Frank Briggs of Interlaken was fined ten dollars plus costs by Justice H M Thompson Mechanicsburg after forcing a state police car driven by Officer Howard Mackett off the Gettysburg Harrisburg road in Cumberland county by passing on a grade. The police car veered near a guard rail to avoid the passing vehicle.

Nine Adams County residents enlisted in the Army and Air Force during November the announcement stated. The group includes Gary D. A Monday meeting at St James Lutheran church formed an Auxiliary to the Adams County Home to help residents with fellowship religious and cultural programs. Rev Nevin R Frantz was named president and Rev Ralph R Gresh secretary. An executive committee and board members from Gettysburg and surrounding towns were listed. Committees were set to explore service options for residents religious and social needs.
The Forty Hours Devotion at Immaculate Conception church New Oxford ended Tuesday evening with solemn benediction and procession of the Blessed Sacrament. The Rose Ann shoppe at 116 Baltimore Street Gettysburg completed extensive alterations begun in August. The storefront widens eight feet and adds nine feet of depth with a new shoe department dressing rooms four new display cases and redecorated interiors. Proprietor Mrs Rose Smith Littleton opened the store in 1932 after earlier clerking at Harry Viener’s York Street shop.

Harold Sanders, director of instrumental music in Upper Adams School District at Biglerville, was elected president of the Adams County Public School Music Teachers Association at a dinner meeting in Gettysburg Tuesday night. Dorothy Thomas of Biglerville was elected secretary treasurer, succeeding Betty Jane Grieman.

Floyd Miller 23 of Gettysburg was arrested at 3 AM Sunday by borough police on a disorderly conduct charge filed by his father. He was jailed for a hearing. The father later withdrew the charge. Miller, on probation for a prior offense, caused a disturbance at home and demanded a shotgun to hunt rabbits on the battlefield. The case was filed before Justice John H. Baschore.
George T Raffensperger of Gettysburg was taken to Warner Hospital Sunday morning where Dr Raymond F Sheely confirmed rabbit fever after clinical tests and patient history. A Hanover ad promotes electric sewing machines at Baker & Nace along with Quick Heat oil heaters and delivery services.
