Pleas of Guilty Entered in U.S. Court Racket
Thirty two defendants in a United States district court have pleaded guilty and received sentences for violations of federal law. Judge Colin Neblett sentenced 30 and two more this morning. Most cases involved liquor sales to Indians or U.S. soldiers, with sentences from 60 to 90 days in jail. Three suspects admitted robbing a post office in the Mimbres valley and were sent to hard labor for two years at Leavenworth. A white slavery case pled guilty but awaits sentencing. The grand jury plans to finish by Monday, having investigated 177 cases, with 65 no true bills and 12 indictments. Records will be moved to Albuquerque for the October 22 court opening.
