Stolen gold plated bishop crosier in Gallup
Diocese of Gallup seeks public help after a gold plated ceremonial crosier six feet long and jewel adorned was stolen from an unlocked pickup of Bishop Olmsted's aide between Sunday and Wednesday. The staff dates to 1940 from Fr. Bernard Espelage and can be dismantled for storage in a black case. Public appeal aims to recover the historically significant item.

Bravery Honored On Gallup Courthouse Pillars
In McKinley County the Allup Twelve Pillars Veterans Memorial Pillars honor 1 396 area veterans from the Gallup courthouse square. Since 2006 the memorial recognizes residents with names added annually by the committee. Applicants living in McKinley County must submit DD 214 and proof of residency to Gallup City Hall. The artist updates the pillars yearly with new names. 103 were added last year.

Homeowner confronts burglar during Mentmore burglary
Gallup police search for a man who tried to steal 20000 dollars worth of natural gas equipment during a morning residential burglary on Blue Hill Avenue. Deputy Chief John Allen says the suspect fled on foot after the homeowner demanded he stay inside the garage. The stolen van was found later nearby. no injuries reported. Twin Lakes man raises El Paso maintenance concerns
Twin Lakes resident Tony Bowman questioned El Paso Natural Gas Company about the materials used in a maintenance project.
