The Lancaster and Lancaster & Uphrate divisions of Conestoga Traction announce new hourly trolley service with half hour departures on several lines. First Lancaster departures shift earlier. Liphewater and New Holland now run on the half hour. Schedules: Lancaster Ephrata first car 4 30 pm, then hourly to 11 pm. Ephrata first car 5 am, hourly to 10 pm with Saturday midnight. Lancaster New Holland first car 4 30 pm, last 9 30 pm, New Holland 6 30 pm to 12 midnight. The change aids connections to the 6 30 News Express and near Mechancisburg sub station. Travelers between New Holland and Wohrat may wait 30 minutes.
The Lancaster County Lutheran Pastoral Association held its monthly meeting last Monday at Rev A Steinhaeuser’s residence. Attendees discussed a paper on The World of the Holy Ghost in Man to be published in The Church Review and debated The Individual Communion Cup, approving no innovation.
On Wednesday afternoon Amos Rutter a noted grain and coal dealer in the borough fell headlong from the side of a wagon as he was checking grain. Stephen Lapp had brought a load of wheat and Rutter slipped striking his left hip. He was carried to his home by carriage. Dr Kobler found no broken bones but a severe bruise that left him unable to use the left leg. rest was advised for a full recovery.
A young farmer named Stoltzfus, unmarried and of Leacock township, committed death by his own action Monday morning at his home. He reportedly used a weapon to shoot himself in the head at Heller church area. Deputy Coroner F. Harple and Dr. W. N. Keylor conducted the inquest and returned a verdict of suicide.
Samuel Myers, a well known farmer, died Friday evening at his home near Perraville Hast. He was a son of La Myers and was born near Newhia. His mother and siblings survive with brothers and sisters listed in the notice.
The funeral for William of Terre Hill was held Tuesday morning with interment in St. Stephen Reformed cemetery. Members of Gimp 274, P.O. 3. of A., Terre Hill, of which he was a member, attended the ceremony and conducted grave services.

Geo W Winger proprietor of New Holland lumber yards narrowly escaped losing his left hand when a circular saw gripped his finger. The finger was split almost to the base and the next two fingers were severely cut. Amputation was considered but saving the finger now appears possible though it will be stiff and painful. The report also notes a large Baptist Brethren assembly at Haxtung Spark Harrisburg with favorable weather and strong attendance for ongoing sermons and discussions.

A cow wandered into the rear and main rooms of Diller Hardware Company, exiting the front door without incident. The next morning a steer entered the New Holland house, moved through to the bar area, and left via the front door. Both episodes caused notable excitement in town.
Bury Kilhefner an old well known Mast Karl township resident died Monday at his Ranek ohurch home from natural causes in his seventy eighth year. Survived by son John with whom he lived his wife predeceased him. Funeral held Thursday at Ranck church cemetery.
Judge J B Livingston endured a sequence of strokes beginning Thursday night and Monday morning. He lost consciousness for hours, improved on Tuesday, again relapsed Wednesday, but regained consciousness and has since shown gradual improvement though remains weak.
Henry M Parier a longtime resident of Upper Leacock township died at his home near Ghott dale station Sunday evening General debility aged seventy He was a laborer by occupation and well esteemed in the community He had been twice married and is survived by his second wife and several children Funeral held on Wednesday with interment in Zeltenreich cemetery
The Evangelical Association announces an annual camp meeting at Brownstown Brown's Grove in Earl Township beginning July 1 and continuing through July. The event aims to be the largest and most successful camp meeting in years with every effort planned to ensure success.
A man named Thomas H Brubaker of Rock Hand Pennsylvania was struck by a truck and dragged toward a moving train in the railroad yard on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred amid loud noise and confusion as workers attempted to manage traffic around the yard.
On Ascension day an Amish church in the county held a special service at David Fisher's home. Sixteen candidates were considered as ministers, each seated with uniform beads and a single book. The chosen candidate, said to be guided by the Lord, was Jacob Lapp of Weivertown.

They claim election under the 150,000 population class grants them 500 salary, currently receiving a per diem and mileage. The county argues directors are elected under a special law and may only get county salary for populations over 10,000.
A special trolley car will depart New Holland on Sunday at 5 20 a m to reach Lancaster by 6 50 and Harrisburg for a full day at the German Baptist Brethren convention. Another car from Nplate will leave at 5 20 to connect. The return fare from Lancaster to Harrisburg is 21 08.
On Monday death took from its parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Diller, an infant daughter nearly five months old. The funeral was held on Wednesday with interment in Zeltenreiah cemetery.
At a sparsely attended Ephrata Independence Day meeting, officials voted four to two against holding a Fourth of July celebration. The remaining crowd was stirred to patriotism by the decision and its implications for this year.
John H. Darrow of this borough has for about a year been in charge of a livery and feed stable and harness store. He has been followed by his family who left on Monday to reside in the City of Churches, Brooklyn N Y.
