Walter S. Rife 67 Dies in Borough at Home

Walter S. Rife sixty seven died Friday morning at 8 30 at his home 366 East Main Street this borough after eight days illness. Survived by wife Ella C. Mon day and three sons Edgar of Sterling Sr John and Jason of Steelton seven grandchildren a brother and sister Daniel and Amanda of this borough. He belonged to United Brethren church and Camp 40 P O B of A. Funeral services Tuesday at 2 from the home burial in Lutheran cemetery.

Leininger Elizabeth M. Leininger Dies at 52

Elizabeth M. Leininger of Hinkle town died Friday night at 11 45 from disease after nine months illness. Survived by husband Elvan Leininger and sister Lottie Dissinger of Brickerville. Funeral from home Saturday at 1 30 p m with services at Muddy Creek Lutheran at 2 15 p m. Interment in adjacent cemetery.

Mrs Ada V Piper age 74 wife of Francis J Piper of Narvon died Tuesday afternoon after a illness. She leaves a daughter Mrs Virtue of Narvon a sister Mrs Cora J Shuff of Narvon and a brother Dudley T Lindsay of Philadelphia. Funeral services were held at her home Thursday at 2 pm and burial followed today at Mt Moriah Cemetery Philadelphia.

John J. Reser eighty one died at his home in Cambridge on Thursday morning after a complication of diseases. He was a lifelong Cambridge resident, son of the late Jacob and Mary Trego Reser, and survived by his wife, three children Mrs. Horace Yelk J. Frank and Alfred, seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in Cambridge Union chapel with burial in Pequea Presbyterian cemetery.

Fatally Injured Milk-Truck Driver In Road Accident

D Landis Howe aged 23 of near White Horse died after a milk truck he drove was struck from behind by another truck while he repaired it on the Lincoln Highway near Philadelphia. He passed away at 3 30 a m in Frankford Hospital Philadelphia. Survived by his parents Mr and Mrs Harry Howe and siblings Earl Nathan Florence Esther Catherine Raymond Norman Mildred. Boys Band to Fill Five Engagements in Eight Days

The Boys Band of New Holland plans five performances between June 28 and July 5. They will play at Goodville Fire Company festival and Rocky Spring Park near Lancaster, perform for Minquas Fire Company carnival in Downingsown, give a concert at Ephrata Park for the American Legion celebration, and close with the Honey Brook Fire Company carnival.

Man Injured When Car Hit by Freight Train at Crossing

Nathan Eaby aged 43, of South Borough, was seriously hurt Tuesday after his car was struck by a freight train at the South Railroad Avenue crossing. He failed to heed a brakeman warning and became pinned in the wreckage. a companion escaped. Eaby was treated at the scene and taken to Lancaster General Hospital.

Boy Scout Troop No.1 of New Holland met at the cabin two miles south of town with thirty members present. They cleaned the cabin, enjoyed a pancake supper, discussed camp site options, and planned painting costs. Eight boys stayed overnight.
