Slight Smokehouse Fire at Shirk Home Damages Meats
A small blaze in the rear smokehouse of J. J. Shirk at 861 Jackson Street burned two shoulders and two hams around 9 p m Saturday. Mrs. Shirk said the meat hung above a fire and a flare-up ignited them. Liberty Fire Company extinguished the flames without hoses or chemicals.
