In a storm, about 25 seagulls were spotted on the Conestoga near Troop's Mill along the Bowmansville road. John W. Martin a coal dealer from East Earl identified the birds as gulls seen at sea. H M Shirk reported waking to find a pig on his front porch after the rainfall.

Obituary of Harry M. Snavely Fifty-Six Years Banker in Ephrata
Harry M. Snavely sixty six of Ephrata vice president and trust officer of Farmers National Bank died at 12 40 a m Tuesday at Lancaster General Hospital from complications after eight weeks of ill health. He began in banking at New Holland National Bank later moved to Ephrata as cashier when Farmers National Bank was founded in 1893. He helped organize the Ephrata Building and Loan Association and served as borough treasurer. Survived by his widow and son Ralph at home. He belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church Ephrata. He spent part of Tuesday with friends before burial.

Terre Hill Man Injured Seriously in Auto Crash
Charles Bixler a 30 year old resident of Terre Hill was seriously injured in a collision at a road intersection north of the borough on Sunday. He suffered a fractured skull and a fractured right arm and was treated at St Josephs Hospital Lancaster. Bixler was driving west on Voganville Martindale road when his car hit a southbound auto driven by Harold Esbenshade 28 of New Holland. Esbenshade sustained a laceration of the left ear. Bixler was later moved to his home then to the hospital at family physician advising and his condition was reported about the same as Tuesday slightly improved.
