Eregt Standpipe Or Install Pump To Boost Fire Pressure
The water company through representative Don H Amsbury notified the city fire committee that it would immediately begin work on a pipe or install an extra pump to raise pressure for Highland district and South highlands. A test of downtown mains pressure by 12 hoses will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at eight o clock, to gauge pressure loss during a ry e fire. The committee agreed to the test, while some urged an unexpected test to prevent company aid from skewing results.

Commissioners Likely to Store the Old Bridge
The county commissioners have not decided what to do with the Pittsburg street bridge as it is removed for a new structure. Residents propose relocating near Croton Avenue or Cunningham Street, or replacing the bridge at Jefferson Street, but proximity to the Pittsburg bridge is a concern. The bridge is longer than needed and may be dismantled with little damage while ironwork remains in good condition.
