Mega Sports Camp grows from nine churches into summer series
Gierhart, director of family ministries at First Alliance Church, envisions successive camps each summer possibly in a larger facility or a second week. She notes many parents appreciate the chance for kids with limited extracurriculars to participate. The program relied on nearly 100 volunteers from nine fostering churches and drew support from Coney Island, Herr's Potato Chips, Pizza Joe's, Lawrence County Youth Ministries, and W. Rick's Taproom and Grill.
