Merger Review Moves Forward for Local Fire Departments
Greensburg attorney Kim Ross Houser has begun studying bylaws finances and operating guidelines for the proposed merger of South New Castle Borough and Shenango Township fire departments. Langford and Houser will craft a merger agreement for approval by both municipalities and fire departments before it goes to the Lawrence County Orphans Court and then the state attorney general. The delay may come from AG review backlogs and possible information requests. Judge David H. Acker oversees the Orphans Court in Lawrence County Common Pleas.
