Money in campaigns tests limits in Lawrence County races
In last month's Lawrence County primary, five Democrats competed for two nominations. Incumbent Steve Craig spent $1,836.50 to win, while Loretta Spielvogel spent $11,345.07 and Tim Fulkerson $11,695.40. Amodie and Acker battled for common pleas, with Amodie spending $20,000 of her own funds and Acker $22,948.71 in total contributions and expenses. Incumbency appears to help, but money alone does not determine votes.
