Washington June 26 Treasury experts have not completed details on Roosevelt tax on wealth as Senate Finance Committee adjourns without reporting new schedules making enactment by Saturday night unlikely.

In Mercer Pennsylvania on June 26 officials of Sharon Coal and United Mine Workers reached a settlement to end the Mine No 5 strike. About 325 workers will return to work Thursday morning after the mine had been idle since June 24.
Frank C. Mott of East Grant street reported to state police that he was held up and robbed by a well dressed, hatless hitch-hiker near Geneva College Beaver Falls. The robber, who produced a gun, fled near Crescentdale with $11 and was not found. authorities are investigating.
Harrisburg reports a formal charge will be filed against Sen William H Clark Chester County for soliciting a bribe from Attorney General Charles J Margiotti and Harry Kalodner Gov George H Earle's secretary District Attorney Karl Richards said after reviewing recordings of a conversation in which Clark allegedly offered to push passage of administration appropriation bills for the state liquor store insurance business.
Connelsville Pennsylvania June 26 Interstate Amiesite Company begins operations at its new Dunbar plant with fifteen employees filling rush orders. The plant cost $50 000 to construct and is expected to double payroll and output within a week.
Harrisburg today Edward N Jones Pennsylvania Works Progress Administrator said the amount of money local communities raise for materials will determine the concrete results from the federal Works Progress Administration. He outlined policy for Pennsylvania s share of the 4 000 000 000 federal fund.
Authority approves several school projects including playgrounds in New Castle and the county set to begin Monday. New Castle will use seven staff with a director and nurse while the county assigns three workers. Sites include Arthur McGill Rose avenue Lincoln-Garfield and Benjamin Franklin in New Castle and Castlewood Bessemer Hillsville in the county. Additional work covers exterior painting at Ben Franklin and W N Aiken schools plumbing and wiring upgrades and fire alarm installs at multiple campuses.
State Highway Department plans extensive bridge painting in Lawrence and Beaver counties. Bids sought for four bridges in Wayne and Perry townships, Lawrence county, and in North Sewickley and Franklin townships, Beaver county, plus in the boroughs of Wampum Ellport Monaca Rochester. Judges R L Hildebrand and James A Chambers sentenced several men who pled nolle contendere to charges from a May 3 raid by state police and sheriff. Travers received $500 fine, costs, and 5 to 12 months in the Allegheny county workhouse. Mancini drew 4 to 8 months and $100 plus costs for transporting numbers slips. Continued on Page Two.

June 26 Harrisburg reports Ches ter Reigle 43 of Halifax died in a hospital. He perished in a collision between his truck and an automobile near Berrysburg. Ralph Snyder 44 and Mamie Keiser 15 were killed. Pauline Snyder 13 was dying in hospital and Lloyd Roadcap 23 a trailer passenger remained seriously hurt.
Democratic County Chairman William R. Hanna announced the appointment of Mrs Ella Good widow of Harry M. Good of Enon Valley as state nurse replacing Mrs Blanche Smith. Mrs Good, well known in New Castle where she lived many years, is the widow of former New Castle postmaster Harry M. Good who served two terms.
Harrisburg announces 2630 miles added to the state highway system bringing total to 37900 miles. The move transfers seconds class township roads to state control and shifts maintenance funds with a $9000000 appropriation. Bridges over 10 feet now under state responsibility.
ELKHART Ind June 26 three young brothers were killed when they picked up a discarded explosive in a junkyard. Charles Canen 15 and Laverne 13 died instantly Wayne 8 died later in hospital. A sister Erma heard the blast and found the mangled bodies.
Rome reports Italy will bolt the League of Nations over the Abyssinia dispute and may act before the Geneva council meets. Officials say Italy could stay in the league only if Abyssinia is demoted to a mandated territory under Article XIX, with Italy ruling the mandate.
