In Wilmington Delaware John Zemme killed his two asleep children Rose aged 2 and John aged 6 after finding they played with a Black child. He was intoxicated and then shot himself. The children were not expected to live.
The New Castle Country Club will hold its annual meeting Friday evening in the YMCA hall. Officers for the coming year will be elected and the club plans to erect a new clubhouse to replace the one destroyed by fire.
F. E. Gill, Esq., a prominent attorney of Sioux City Iowa, visits his cousin Rev. F. J. Eger of St. Joseph's church. Gill will stay several days before departing for a trip to the James town exposition.
A second smallpox case has emerged in Neshannock township. John Maitland and Arnie Cochran’s farm were affected after contact with a stranger at the last primary. both men are quarantined under J. P. Holden. Officials fear further cases from the unidentified man.
All Catholic churches in the city plan a union picnic at Cascade park on Monday with band concerts and athletic events. Other days feature Methodist observance, dances, Woodmen of the World, Masonic dances, Leetonia merchants outing, Curry Institute Pittsburgh event, and Girls club dance earnings.
The body of five year old Mary Newlin, missing since Sunday, was found buried in the back yard of her stepfather Irwin A. Lewis in Westchester, Pa. He has been arrested pending investigation.
The triennial session of the Great Hive of the ladies of the Maccabees of the World in Pennsylvania closed Wednesday in Harrisburg. Mrs Margaret Heaney of Bartram Avenue was elected to the office of sergeant in the officers’ slate.
In Chicago the Monon Railroad faces a suit filed by District Attorney Sims to halt a contract with a New York publisher. The action, directed by Attorney General Bonaparte, alleges the railroad swapped a full page ad for $500 in trip tickets and mileage and claims similar deals with 251 other publishers.

James Boyle, possibly from Boston, Mass, working at Ellwood City, was struck by a train near Ellwood Wednesday evening. He lost both legs, was taken to Beaver Valley General Hospital in New Brighton, and died Thursday morning. He was about 26, with relatives said to reside in the city.
Fire at G. W. Sager residence at Clay ton and Cedar streets started by a lighted match in a closet. An alarm from box 75 summoned the Seventh ward fire department. Loss estimated at about $20.
John Quitby, son of Samuel Quitby of Falls Street, slipped on a short stairway to the street Thursday afternoon and fractured his left arm between the wrist and elbow.
Erwin Rosa 10, son of Mr and Mrs Frank Rosa of Race street, was found asleep in a coal shed behind Bridge street Thursday evening after running away Wednesday. He had been in the shed nearly 48 hours, with only bread remnants nearby, and will be kept under watch as steps are taken to seek Morganza commitment.
