Accidental shooting near Neshannock Creek details incident
State police report Chester Leroy Smiley Jr. of 1613 Pennsylvania Ave. accidentally shot himself in the leg while hunting near Neshannock Creek. His pistol discharged when holster safety failed as he scaled a bank. bullet entered his right knee and exited two inches below. He was treated and released from St Francis Hospital.

Paratroopers obsolete in Vietnam 101st to stay helicoptered

Rubber bag in fabridam explodes at Sunbury
A huge rubber bag in the Susquehanna River burst Thursday night at Sunbury causing a 40 foot water spray. No injuries were reported. The fabridam, made of seven rubber coated nylon bags, can form a 3000 acre lake for recreation. Officials were unsure repairs could be ready for the July 4 and 6 dedication ceremonies.
