Resignation Submitted by Seventh Ward Pastor

Rev M W Keith pastor of the Seventh ward Presbyterian church submitted his resignation to take effect at the September meeting of presbytery. Shenango presbytery of the Presbyterian church met at Central church this morning and will consider the petition from the Seventh ward congregation asking investigation of church affairs. Miscommunication was signed by 36 members.

Pastor Rev. Keith Faces Presbyter y Review In City Church

Perpetual Franchise to Traction Co. Refused by Township

Beaver Falls Koppel New Castle Street Railway sought a perpetual franchise for Atlantic avenue through Union township but was rejected. Supervisors voted down the offer in five minutes and then proposed a 25 year franchise with a universal transfer system plus a $3,000 township cash bonus. If rejected, the township will force the street through under court order, raising suspicions of ties to Mahoning and Shenango Railway and Light Co. Continued on Page Three.

Hanging Death Of Local Butcher In Fridge Store

James Bair a Steubenville butcher and active in secret organizations and church circles died in his shop today when his body slipped on a hook in a refrigerator, impaling his heart. He hung for three minutes before being found and pronounced dead.

Robbers Load 1500-Pound Safe From Chicago Office

Four masked men at midday backed a large delivery wagon to the office of Max Kutchai, flavoring extracts maker, kicked in the door and wheeled off a 1500 pound safe. The safe held about $300 in cash and negotiable papers worth several thousand dollars.

Bond Issue Passed By Common Council for Washington Street

The Common Council approved a $50 000 bond issue for repaving Washington Street North Street and Long Avenue and for a storm sewer construction. Miners Dead After Lightning Strike Near Lilly Mines

John Hamilton and August Launtz were killed by lightning while running under a tree to dodge a shower on the way to work at the Lilly mines in Johnstown Pa. The flash melted solder in their dinner buckets but left no other marks on their bodies.

Poison attempt leaves May Hollenback in critical condition

Washington reports May Hollenback wife of Hazel No. 2 glass plant foreman James Hollenback is hospitalized in critical condition after ingesting white iodine outside the plant following a quarrel over her association with two day employees. International Sailors Strike Looms At Southampton

Southampton England June 13 Officials of the National Sailors and Firemen's union announced an international strike of sailors to begin tomorrow. The union claims control of about 3,000,000 sailors and firemen and delays were reported on nearly a score of vessels at the piers including the American liner St Paul while the White Star liner Olympic is set to sail on its maiden voyage.

East Side residents push for Hill District fire station near Thaddeus Stevens school
