Pennsylvania's 75 Republican delegates will cast their votes for Alf M Landon on the first ballot by acclamation, according to state chairman M Harvey Taylor. Kelly and McGarvey, the final holdouts, agreed to the move saying there was nothing else to do.

Portersville awoke to two burglaries and an attempted store robbery. A thief crawled through a window taking two watches and $80. Entries failed at Oesterling Feed store but succeeded at chambers and Humphreys homes where more cash and watches were stolen.

Four employees at the State Liquor store on Produce street were held at pistol point around 9 20 am by two armed, unmasked bandits who escaped with about 100 dollars. One trapped employee was Hyman Levine, a repeat victim from a prior robbery of roughly 700 dollars. Police and detectives are investigating led by Chief Ralph Criswell and officers Showalter, Young, and Allgier.
President Roosevelt travels by presidential special toward Houston as Texas marks its centennial.
