Portrait of Thaddeus Stevens returns to Lancaster school
In 1946 a first grader, Biasucci, recalled his late wife’s broken leg and the moment he realized the school honored Thaddeus Stevens. A found engraving plate led to a limited edition print copied by the Historic Preservation Trust. Biasucci donated it for remounting at Lockley Early Learning Center during a May 1 2002 assembly. The school’s closing era featured students Neena Flora and others presenting the portrait as staff learned they would move to a new state‑of‑the‑art building.
