Tour de Donut brings cyclists and donuts to Wilmington
In a quirky event in Wilmington, Pete rode with 538 participants from Westminster College to Apple Castle then back as crowds cheered. Pete finished a dozen donuts after an arduous second half, earning a medallion amid coachlike encouragement from a friend. The organizers Tennant and Cathcart say the event has grown over three years, sparked by Tennant's idea to entertain. The pairing of sport and sweets drew bikers of all ages, with plans to continue in future years.
