Ellwood boards press state on school budget cuts

Oldest veteran in County Actually Alive

John Walter died at 95 removing him from oldest living veteran claim. Two others age 95 and 97 remain. William Bleakney 97 of Ellwood City a World War I veteran and former U S Army warrant officer lives with daughter Jean Cook. Albert F Wilkins 95 in Indian Creek Nursing Home also a WW I veteran and ex American Legion commander. Walter, a Memorial Day parade victim, was born May 28 1897.
