Tacoma police and investigators anticipate a major development within 12 hours in the Charles Mattson kidnapping case. The 10 year old was abducted Sunday from the home of his father Dr. William W. Mattson, a prominent physician, as authorities continue the search.
State highway patrolmen reported last night that 15 motorists were arrested for failing to dim headlights when approaching an oncoming car. The total arrests reached 35 after Monday night, with out of state drivers given immediate hearings and Pennsylvania operators notified to appear before aldermen. Drivers must switch from high to low beam within 500 feet of an oncoming vehicle and may not raise lights until the cars pass. Convictions carry a $10 fine plus costs.

Mrs Viola Wicline, 35, frenzied by her son’s death, opened fire in Breathitt County courthouse Hindman Kentucky killing Johnny Shepherd the youth on trial for her son’s murder and wounding three others. She is charged with murder and jailed in Knott County. Her husband William Wicline, Bedford Gabbard and Mattie Haddix are held without bail.

The body of Capt. Charles J. Lague of the Colorado National Guard was found near the wreckage of a biplane that crashed during a snowstorm east of Deertrail, Colorado. Chiang Kai-Shek plans to submit a second resignation as premier because he needs rest after imprisonment. The central political council rejected his first resignation.
