The Matin in Paris backs Belgiums demand for new territory at the peace conference. It proposes a slice of Holland with a Rhine border strip in Prussian soil and control of the Scheldt river by Belgium plus return of the Waloon provinces near Eisenborn and St Vith Malmedy and Montjoie from Germany. It also suggests expanding the Belgian border to Maestrich and Aix la Chapelle, with Luxembourg as a defensive pillar regardless of final soil status.

Lieutenant Paul D. Graham aged 29 rural teacher at Schenley and McKeesport high schools died of pneumonia October 25 in a French hospital. He was with the United States coast artillery in France and enlisted in 1918. A Westminster College graduate, Class of 1910, he taught five years and lived in Crafton with his widow Mrs. Margaret Coley Graham. He leaves his mother two brothers and three sisters.
Representative Frederick H. Gillette of Massachusetts declared his candidacy for speaker as a Republican challenger to James R. Mann of Illinois. Gillette cited broad regional support and unanimous backing from Massachusetts Republicans. The move marks the first GOP opposition to Mann’s bid for the role.
The commonwealth against William G. Tillia ended with a not guilty verdict after a trial spanning Monday to Wednesday. Justice Emery refused to read law points but supplied points for both sides as jurors requested. The case involved a farm dispute over possession on Neshannock avenue and an asserted key granting Tillia entry on August 19.

Secretary Daniels urged maintaining war pay. About 5000 temporary officers would keep commissions after passing exams.

A fresh supply was dispatched and the plane was to be brought in for possible resumption to Cleveland. another ship was under repair and a third was stranded on a farm near Le Grove after a prior forced landing.

Attorney W J Moffatt calls for a central auditorium and library as Lawrence County memorials to soldiers and sailors. He urges the city and county to unite to build and dedicate an auditorium library complex to symbolize civic cooperation.
C Duff voices support for a library auditorium project and a city county building feature. He stresses favoring a central location to serve both facilities.
Judge S. Plummer Emery urges a future oriented memorial auditorium for New Castle and Lawrence County with lodge room facilities for soldiers and sailors and women's societies. He envisions a strong permanent classic Greek style to accommodate population growth beyond 75 000 and agricultural prosperity.
