In Guatemala City Eugene Hasenfus spends his first full day of freedom 74 days after being shot down while aiding Contra rebels. He was pardoned by Nicaragua and headed toward home in Wisconsin with wife Sally and son Adam, as UPI reports.

Smoking bans likely to increase in Western PA workplaces

Ex county youth dies after trail bike collision in New York
Frank E. Smolarski, 15, formerly of North Beaver Township, died at Albany Medical Center after a trail bike crash in Marbletown New York. He was transported by helicopter from Benedictine Hospital Kingston after the 3 15 p m incident when his bike pulled into the path of a car driven by Helen M Scheringer 74 Olivebridge. Smolarski wore a helmet and was ejected about 65 feet from impact.
