Wilbur and Ruth Peak of 104 Reiber Street were acquitted of involuntary manslaughter and child neglect charges in county court. Judge John S. Powers directed the verdict of innocent after District Attorney Kenneth E. Fox Jr. reported the Peaks were allowed to return to an old house from which they had been evicted. The five year old daughter's death in January prompted the case. the December term closed with this verdict.
