County officials face loss of over ten thousand in fees
Two county officials would lose more than $10,000 in fees if a state House Counties Committee proposal becomes law. The panel seeks to divert fees from county row officers to the county treasury. 27 Greek seamen trapped as freighter sinks offshore

Police cruiser crashes during high speed chase on Volant Hill
A New Wilmington police cruiser, a speeding convertible, and a Volant fire truck collided on Pa 208 near Volant after a 1 a.m. pursuit. Three Pittsburgh youths in the convertible were injured, including 18 year old Donald Pantanella. Pantanella and Phil Sopp were treated and released. David Wilson was hospitalized then transferred. Police will charge Pantanella with reckless driving.
