CBS apologized for a brief graphic reading Snipers wanted shown during The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn while Bush accepted the Republican nomination. The network called it inappropriate and regrettable and pledged action. Bush campaign welcomed the apology and awaited results of the investigation.
ABC News reprimanded reporter John Stossel and suspended producer David Fitzpatrick for 30 days over a misleading 20/20 segment on organic foods. An internal probe found no pesticide testing on produce, though Stossel claimed tests showed no residues in both conventional and organic samples.
In Orlando Florida two men allege Disney stole their idea to build a sports complex and asked a jury to award at least 1.4 billion in damages. Willie Gary argues Disney used its power to push the plan while Disney defense says no copying occurred. The case stems from proposals in the late 1980s and the 1997 opening of Disney World Wide of Sports. Jury deliberations expected to begin today.
