In Converse Indiana on December 24 Ernest Cunningham was shot in the hand while holding a rabbit to test his companion Delbert Sanders’s aim. Sanders missed the rabbit. the bullet passed through Cunningham’s hand and the rabbit escaped.
Lawrence T. Brewington, a Black man claiming service in the Eighth Illinois regiment, says he is to be tried here for the attempted murder of another Black man and that he has been notified to report with his regiment in Chicago at any moment. The reason for possible action by his unit is not known to him.
Evansville Indiana December 24 a twelve year old son of J W Feigel of Rockport has endured a sequence of injuries. A year ago he broke a leg then another leg six months later and a broken arm three months ago while playing with an old pistol he shot a large hole through his left hand and may need amputation.
Brazil Indiana police arrested J. M. Glenn yesterday on charges of robbing the Waverly hotel. Two gold watches a ring and a roll of money were recovered from his person after he allegedly gave the alarm and became confused.
Gas City Ind Dec 24 Frank Cappell a millwright at Western Strawboard works was crushed to death in a revolving shaft yesterday. His body was mangled and clothing had to be cut away to remove him.
George Kerney aged forty was killed instantly in Anderson Indiana when a crane broke while he unloaded coal from a car. The crane struck him on the head crushing his skull in the Big Four yards yesterday.
