Nelson and Ymir school boards elect trustees

In Nelson the school board annual meeting elected Dr Hall as trustee successor to retiring George Johnstone after a single nomination. In Ymir the election saw Alfred Parr defeat John McLeod by six votes, Parr 45 to 39, with the secretary’s annual report read and accepted.

The Nelson Gun Club held a regular shoot last night with poor light affecting scores. In 25-bird events H W F Pollock 10, Geo Tierney 11, C D Goepel 16, Nelson 11, P Nelson 15, and a five-bird sweepstake with four entries followed. final shoot off in five birds saw Goepel and Pollock tied before Goepel won 5 to 3.

Sandon team to play Nelson on Dominion Day

Sandon’s ambitious Sandon Paystreak reports a strong lineup for a Nelson game on Dominion Day. Slocun talent from Sandon New Denver Three Forks Kaslo will form the squad with Three Forks Cyclone Pattey in the box and George Long of New Weaver behind the willow. Paddy Murphy will lead off, Fred Wailey second, Willie Richards third, Adam Each short, with Greenlee Mayhaver Giegrich in the field and Lincoln Kaslo on the bench. The Freaks aim to challenge Nelson and Trail, leaving Sunday via the K and 8 rail line for a Sunday night game. If the authorities uncover their identities, the Nelson games slated for Monday and Tuesday may be affected.

Burlington Mining Company Buys Iron Horse Property

The bonders of the Iron Horse group on Ten Mile Creek paid the final 19 500 dollars to the ground, and the property is now owned outright by the Burlington Mining Company. Originally staked in 1894 by Mesars McLean and McDonald of Silverton, the site will be developed on a large scale with machinery to be installed.

Muffers Meet the Tigers in Lax Clash Draws Big Crowd

McFarland's Muffers edged the Tigers four goals to three at the recreation grounds in a lively lacrosse match. Mining returns from Le Roi and Ymir properties reported

Mine managers report for May show Le Roi group shipments and outputs at Le Roi No 2 and Le Roi including 22 705 tons produced yielding 7510 ounces gold and 15460 ounces silver plus 305 tons copper. Ymir output notes 89 stamps ran 657 hours with estimated profit around 25080 dollars.
