Salvation Army Barracks Plans Approved for City
A private Salvation Army meeting approved erecting a new brick barracks on Victoria street with two stories and a front tower. The building will include a 150 seat hall and a 350 seat auditorium, officers quarters, and will be heated by hot air and lit by electric light. Contractors will be local, with work expected to start in July and be finished before winter if possible. The project costs about 9000 dollars, with 3000 subscribed and the rest from the Army reserve fund.

Decorations Destroyed in Fire at McPherson and McCammon Store
A fire last evening in the K W G block destroyed a Domin ion flag display at McPherson and McCammon's store. The blaze started from incandescent lighting and decorated tissue paper, breaking two plate glass windows and causing about 300 dollars in loss insured. Nelson fire brigade arrived promptly, containing the fire with only smoke reaching the interior and no hose needed.
