Mr. Merritt of M. L. Merritt and Associates thanks contestants and merchants for six weeks of cooperation that boosted the paper during the Baby Contest. He credits the success to everyone involved and expresses appreciation for the effort.
Jimmy H Roth wins 150 dollars and a silver loving cup after a tight vote count at the ITEM offices. Regina Hagenbuch led early and late, finishing second for 50 dollars. Shirley Elaine Rinker placed third earning 25 dollars, with Gwendolyn Michael fourth for 15 dollars. Other winners include Ronald Koch sixth, Constance Mae Dech sixth, Patricia Ann Roth seventh, and Victoria E Pysher eighth, sums range from 5 to 10 dollars.
Mr and Mrs Rude Frankenfield mark their 65th wedding anniversary on March 4. They plan to stay home and celebrate, still in good health and able to read without glasses. The couple are the oldest residents of Lower Nasareth Township and Dryland Church in Hecktown, where they have long served as faithful members.
Fifteen members of Principessa Maria Pia di Savoia lodge attended initiation of Antonia Chinotta Lodge, Order Bons of Italy in Allentown marking the Allentown order’s 21st anniversary. Local attendees include Theresa Merlo, Tillie Rempulla, Fannie and Kathryn Merio, Joseph Gatto, Alex Company, Lu te Company, Angie Cabesa, and Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Carmel.
Gillo Adolf Ferretti Carmen and Lena Giolletti present a ham and egg supper to benefit Nazareth Castle No 396 E G E in Eagle Hall Centre Square today March 3. Dinner is served 11 30 a m to 1 30 p m and supper 5 p m to 7 15 p m.
Advisory board states awards to be paid by March 3 to parents of baby winners. First prize 150 dollars and a silver cup, plus TD 50 dollars. Names listed include Jimmy Roth, Regina Hagenbuch, Shirley Rinker, Gwendolyn Michael, Ronald Koch, Constance Dech, Patricia Roth, Victoria Pusher with various amounts shown.

Orne Nazareth Hardware Company organized May 8 1908 moves to larger quarters in Bettle Apartment Building at 51 South Main Street. Manager J F Schlegel praised for the splendid move as all merchandise transfers complete. A special opening sale to be announced in the March 17 issue of the paper.
The Girl Scout Council held its monthly meeting with Miss Mary Wunderly presiding. The Finance Committee noted a tea on February 10 at Mrs Beck's home. Brownie Pack No 1 will split into two groups and Troop 4 will place flowers at St John’s Lutheran Church for Founders Day March 12. Members were named to publicity and troop leadership roles. The council reviewed the History of Girl Scouts booklet from Savannah Morning News. Planned activities include a tin can matinee, cake sale, a flower sale at Easter, and camping fund drives. All council members will attend the 19th Regional Conference in Allentown May 8–11. Mrs Roslyn Fortuin named Juliette Lowe representative.
Archers from the A. B. Grange Archery Club in Sellersville, Pennsylvania participate in an invitation shoot. Named attendees include Edgar George Oswald, Raanhard Schoenberger, and Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Reichenbach.
Spring weather spurs Nazareth community to form a Junior Legion team for boys aged 12 to 18. William Walters, former manager, will begin screening applicants who meet the grade, with signups at The Legion Home on South Main Street.
The Phi Gamma Club will be guests of the Allentown Club Chapter 90 on Saturday evening. Members will leave the local YMCA at 7 o'clock.
The Nasareth ITEM announces the baby contest concludes at 1:00 pm with ballots and receipts in the final count by judges. Run by M. L. Merritt & Associates of Trenton, NJ the event is praised for fair practice and community business boost, with participants' names and photos now a permanent record.

Governor Googer H. Earle addressed the twenty first annual Pennsylvania State Chamber of Commerce convention in Harrisburg. He praised the chamber’s mission to develop and attract industries, pledged administration support, and criticized efforts to compare Pennsylvania unfavorably with other states while noting the state’s tax status and aid to those in need. High school senior boys are invited to compete for eight annual Muhlenberg College scholarships in Pennsylvania New Jersey and New York valued at 1000 dollars each. Examinations April 30 determine awards for those needing financial aid with good grades. Applications due April 1 to Mrs Flora Kindt Stockertown is mentioned in a local note.
George W. Hahn, local contractor and longtime reader, provides unpublished historical notes on the Jacobsburg Hotel. He asserts the hotel was built by Jacob Hubler around 1775, with Hubler dying in 1790 and buried in a field behind the hotel, and mentions his Mt. residence as context.
Thereth High School directs its Second Annual concert in the school auditorium at 8 pm tomorrow. Director Reits presents a program of fine light overtures and mediies by renowned composers. Selections include The Champion Shenandoah Apple tone poem Brana Honeysuckle trumpet Uncle Tom's radio movie. An accordion duet by Marjorie Kieppinger Sophia Kowalcak will be performed during intermission. Part two continues on page five.
Mr and Mrs George S Kreidler Sr celebrate their sixtieth anniversary with open house in Nazareth Pa They married in Phillipsburg New Jersey by Rev G D Bernheim They have two living children Lila Kreidler and George Kreidler Jr and Mrs Anna Maria Nolf is still living at age 68 Their roots trace to Easton and Nazareth with long time residence in the area
Mr and Mrs Samuel Hayne of Bath celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary Sunday with a dinner at son Ernest Haynes home on Main Street. The family gathered including eight children and many grandchildren. Attendees from Pen Argyl Allentown Bath Northampton and Bangor joined in the celebration.
John A. Miller Jr son of Mr and Mrs J A Miller of New St married Ruth M Basheman daughter of Mr and Mrs Mix ter Bachman of Easton at 6 38 PM last Saturday in his Mast Centre St residence Rev P S Meinert officiated using the ring ceremony. Attendants were Frank Steckel and Helen Bachman Easton. A ballet luncheon followed. The couple will live on East Centre St.
