Stanley J. Gold of Nazareth a Pennsylvania Power and Light lineman died at Martin's Creek after contact with a 4000 volt line during storm repairs. He and two Nazareth coworkers were atop a tower when a cross with another live line caused a fatal short circuit. He was 34, survived by wife Evelyn and son Bruce, with funeral at 144 Liberty Street. Dr. Reichbaum and sheriff deputies investigated.

Ban on sale of bait fish in Pennsylvania streams
The Pennsylvania Fish Commission notes Governor Earle signed a bill prohibiting sale of bait fish taken from state streams. Bait must come from commercial hatcheries. Previously no limit existed except 59 fish. now a $10 fine applies per fish sold or offered. Representative John F. Stone of Potter introduced the bill.

Blind boy wins scholarship with Lions Club aid
Anthony Nello Manone, a graduate of St Marys Institute for the Blind in Lansdale, has earned a full Lehigh University scholarship in Business Administration. Fire Destroys Large Barn Near Nazareth
A fire last Wednesday night leveled a two story barn near Nazareth on Easton Road, burning hay and 1500 bushels of newly threshed wheat along with two sheds. Vigilance Hose Co. No. 4 arrived but could not combat the blaze due to no water supply, though all livestock were saved and the insured owner, Miller Rush, who bought the farm four years ago, was present to assess the cause.
